FEMTO-Innovation Carnot institute includes:
- The FEMTO-ST research institute (Franche-Comté Electronique Mécanique Thermique et Optique - Sciences et Technologies) presently gathers 500 staff members that share a multidisciplinary research based on scientific and technological excellence according to six main directions : microsystems & nanotechnologies, time & frequency and telecommunications systems, biomedical engineering, energy & environment, transport, industrial engineering. Its skills are internationally well-known in mechanics, optics, telecommunications, acoustics, electronics, time & frequency, energetics, and automatic control. FEMTO-ST manages research projects at the crossing of these skills.
It furthermore operates one of the national technology centres (RTB network) devoted to basic research and industrial firms seeking innovating technologies.
The Pierre Vernier Institute (IPV) is a technology transfer center of which mission consists in bridging the gap between reasearch labs and companies. The Institutes offers high value-added services in terms of project engineering, industrial processes and technological development. Our areas of expertise include microtechniques, surface treatment processes, energy, health, industrial design and production.
